One of the survivors of Sunday’s stampede, who escaped with injuries, forced herself out of the hospital so she could find closure in laying down to rest her best friend, Egna Nyamdzawo, who was killed following a stampede in Zimbabwe’s AFCON encounter against Congo Brazzaville at the weekend.

Egnas best friend, Patience Muza, popularly known as Miss pee on Star FM’s Tilder Live show, was in the company of the deceased when she was trampled to death by the mob of supporters at the National Sports Stadium.

Miss pee escaped death with a whisker, dislocating her shoulder and elbow and two of her ribs were affected as well during the stampede that claimed her friend.

Speaking to the H-Metro at the funeral, Miss pee bared her soul, stating she would not return to the hospital until she witnessed her friend being laid to rest peacefully.

” I pleaded with the medical staff who were attending to me in the hospital to excuse me in order to be with family and

friends of Egna. To be honest with you, I am in pain; it is only that I am taking stop pain tablets, but I will not return to the hospital until I witness Egna being laid to rest peacefully, said Miss Pee.

Miss pee also furnished the paper with details of the tragic incident that claimed the life of her friend.

” I was with Egna when people overpowered security officers to gain entry into the stadium. The mishap happened upon handing our tickets by the gate and the people who forced the barricades down and umped over the fence fell on us and we got injured. Egna suffered much as people kept on trampling her in their numbers and she died by my side,” said Miss Pee.

Egnah was killed following a stampede in Zimbabwe’s AFCON encounter against Congo Brazzaville at the weekend. She will be buried today in Domboshava.

Egna survived by her husband and two children. She was 38.
