Air Zimbabwe Leaves Passengers Stranded Again

STRUGGLING Air Zimbabwe, running on a single Boeing 767 jet, has disappointed its passengers again.

The airline abandoned 15 passengers at the Harare International Airport who were supposed to go to Bulawayo. The passengers were supposed to fly from Johannesburg to Bulawayo at midday. However, the struggling airline which is operating only a single plane bunched these passengers with those flying to Harare on the evening flight and dropped them off at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.

The passengers were informed that they would leave the next day at 6 AM. However, the airline told the passengers that it had booked overnight accommodations for them at a hotel in Goromonzi. This did not go down well with the customers who rejected the offer due to the length of the commute.

Unfortunately for the customers, they were informed that they should take it or leave it and when they refused, the Air Zimbabwe staff simply switched off the lights and left them to take care of themselves.

Some of the passengers ended up sleeping on the cold airport benches.

This morning, the flight coming from Bulawayo to Harare had to go via Victoria Falls, delaying some passengers who had business to catch.

MDC-T Vice President Obert Gutu, who was on the flight, said: “Air Zimbabwe is now operating one aircraft, a Boeing 767.Our flight from Bulawayo this morning has to pass through Victoria Falls.”
