BREAKING: High Court Dismisses Application Stop MDC Congress

HIGH Court Judge Justice Edith Mushore, who two weeks ago ruled that Nelson Chamisa’s presidency of the MDC was null and void, has refused to grant an interdict stopping the MDC Congress.

Justice Mushore ruled that the application by Maureen Tawengwa, who was a secretary for Gokwe Sesame under the 2014 structure, ws not urgent.

Tawengwa yesterday filed a High Court application through her lawyer, Ashel Mutungura, seeking an order to stop the MDC congress from going ahead.

The application came after High Court judge Justice Edith Mushore early this month ruled as illegal the way Chamisa and co-vice-president Elias Mudzuri were appointed by the opposition party’s late founding leader, Morgan Tsvangirai.
