Norton legislator Temba Mliswa (INDEPENDENT) says the ruling Zanu-PF party presidential candidate for 2023 will be easily torpedoed by MDC leader Nelson Chamisa‘s wave of “generational consensus.”
Speaking at a YARD function recently, Mliswa says there’s no young person in Zanu-PF who can match Chamisa’s political appeal and charisma, adding that Zanu-PF deputy secretary for youth, Lewis Matutu, is not capable for the task at hand.
“There’s no youth in Zanu-PF who can match Nelson Chamisa. The youths in Zanu-PF were supposed to be the gate that blocks any potential threat or challenge to their leader Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“But as it stands, there’s no such capable youth. That means Nelson Chamisa will go straight at Emmerson Mnangagwa,” Mliswa said.
Mliswa added that trying to stop the young people behind Nelson Chamisa would ne like trying to stop a wave with bare hands.
Chamisa rode on the wave of “generational consensus” in the 2018 elections, but still lost the popular vote.
