A video of new Minister of Information Communication Technologies, Makoni West legislator Jenfan Muswere, failing to answer a question on Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been shared on social media on Monday, and is trending on platforms frequented by Zimbabweans across the globe.
Muswere, who was deputy ICTs Minister in May this year when he attended a summit on AI in Geneva, Switzerland, was asked a question which he fumbled over.
Last Friday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa promoted Muswere to a full Cabinet Minister, taking over the ICTs portfolio from Kazembe Kazembe who has been moved to Home Affairs ministry.
Muswere together with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s sons accompanied the Mnangagwa to the border on the night of 6 November 2017 as he (Mnangagwa) escaped alleged hit-men and assassins who were said to be on his trail after he had been fired by Robert Mugabe.
According to the book Two Weeks in November by Douglas Rogers, Muswere was driving the front car of a three-car motorcade as Mnangagwa escaped towards Forbes border post on the night of November 6, just hours after he had been fired by Mugabe.
