Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has broken off a trip to Europe after violent protests in his home country.

Mr Mnangagwa had been due to attend the Davos economic summit where he was expected to seek investment for Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe’s foreign affairs minister, Sibusiso Moyo, was attacked outside the Royal Institute of International Affairs, commonly known as Chatham House, in London on Friday.

Moyo is in England leading a Zimbabwean delegation on a four-day re-engagement programme to strengthen bilateral relations and to woo investment for Zimbabwe. His visit comes at a time when Zimbabwe is also seeking readmission to the Commonwealth.

Is it a coincidence that most opposition protests are done when the ruling Zanu Pf governement have major International engagements?

This is what the Permanenent Secretary in The Information and Publicity  Ministry insinuated when he said,

We have Sanctions review around the corner. We have Davos on the horizon. Chirega uone maDrama aya otanga. Who do you think is going to do what to bring a negative spotlight on Zimbabwe?
