MINISTER for Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Kazembe Kazembe says the challenges being faced in the production and issuance of passports is being dealt with expeditiously with the clearance of all backlogs targeted at three months.

He said this while touring Bindura Registrar General’s offices to familiarise himself with the operations of the facility and the challenges they are facing.

“On the issue of passport backlogs, the Government has put in place mechanisms that will ensure that the backlog is cleared within the next three months,” he said. “Give the department three months and I can assure you that by the end of March the backlog will be cleared.” The minister assured.

More so, he dispelled all the rumours concerning the hiking of passport fees indicating they still remain the same and if there are any changes, correct measures and channels of communication are used.
