Crime Alert: Police Look For Blue Honda Fit Used In Robbery

POLICE in Harare are on the hunt for a blue Honda Fit vehicle which was allegedly used in a robbery in Ruwa.

This comes as three knife-armed men who were driving the car, registration number ADX 4115, robbed a Harare man of a cellphone and a laptop on Thursday last week.

The incident took place along the Harare-Mutare road near Ruwa.

In another unrelated case, police say a man was struck and killed by a motorist who was overtaking another vehicle along the Harare – Masvingo road on Friday last week.

Details of where the accident exactly took place were not readily available, but police say the the accident occurred at around 1530 hours.

“Motorists are urged to be cautious and avoid overtaking in circumstances that endanger other road users,” police say.

However, motorists have expressed concern over pedestrians who cross the highway at any spot at will. Police have been called upon to step up awareness campaigns on the part of pedestrians.

In an almost similar hit-and-run incident, a Filabusi man, aged 45, was struck by an unknown motorist along the Masvingo-Mbalabala road at the 145.4km peg.

The man, who was discovered by another motorist around midnight, died upon admission at Mberengwa Hospital.

“Motorists are urged to value life and stop to render assistance in the event of an accident,” police said.
