Ghanaian actor and fashion designer, Elikem Kumordzie has blamed his failed marriage to Zimbabwean socialite, Pokello Nare on the fact that he was immature and unprepared.
In a recent interview on Instagram with KOD, Elikem admitted that at the time of the marriage, he was too young to understand what marriage is all about.
He explained that Pokello was 29 while he was 26 and as a result, he wasn’t fully prepared for marriage.
“At the time of marriage, I was between 26 and 27 and had not understood the concept of marriage because I was young but she might have more experience because she was 29 by then”. Elikem told KOD.
Speaking on another factor that caused their separation, Elikem disclosed that long-distance contributed to the break-up.
“I don’t remember too well why we fell apart but I think it has to do with long distance. There was this long period of time where things just went off. She was often far away in Zimbabwe while I remained here in Ghana.” he added.
Elikem Kumordzie and Pokello Nare met and fell in love on season 8 of Big Brother Africa (The Chase) in 2013. After a while of dating with several splitting rumours, Elikem proposed marriage to Pokello live on the stage of the 2014 Ghana Awards.
They had their traditional marriage ceremony in Pokello’s home-country, Zimbabwe with family and friends of Elikem attending.
However after two years of marriage, the two loved birds went their separate ways.
