Zanu-PF politician and member of parliament for Chivi South, Killer Zivhu has come to the aid of Afro-fusion musician and songwriter Great man, who among many musicians in the country, has lost a significant amount of his income because of the Covid-19 pandemic induced lockdown. This follows after news of the artist’s struggle surfaced on social media earlier this week.
The outspoken Mp visited the ‘Pandakazvarwa’ hitmaker’s home yesterday and donated bags of maizemeal. On top of that, the Mp said that he would provide the musician with a monthly relief allowance of RTGS 2,000. Killer Zivhu also revealed that his donation was meant to keep the musician out of the street as it would make him vulnerable to contracting Covid-19.
Greatman, real name Tatenda Gwaze hogged headlines on Tuesday after he took to social media and expressed that he had resorted to selling vegetables on the streets to generate income since business had plunged because of the nationwide lockdown.
The country has been under lockdown since March 30 with tough restrictions on the movement of people and a partial shutdown of the economy in a bid to slow down the spread of Covid-19. However, this has had disastrous effects as many families have lost their income.
