ZANU PF reveal why they fired Mutodi

The ruling ZANU PF party has suggested that the ousted Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Energy Mutodi was relieved of his duties over indiscipline.

This was announced in a press statement that was issued on Thursday by the party’s Acting Spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa. Reads the statement in part:

The Party wishes to make it clear that under the Leadership of Cde E.D Mnangagwa; discipline and harmony is of paramountcy.

Party Members are implored to work in harmony and settle any disagreements through proper channels and not spew out on social media.

On that note The Party condemns the erratic behaviour by Cde MUTODI and that his behaviour is not reflective of what the Party stands for.

The Party wishes to make it clear that they have sincerely apologized to President Magufuli, the Tanzanian People and Chamachamapinduzi Party for the wayward behaviour by Cde MUTODI

A few days before his dismissal, Mutodi had posted on Twitter suggesting that the state broadcaster, ZBC was being abused and poorly managed by fellow party members Senator Monica Mutsvangwa and her husband Christopher Mutsvangwa.

Mutodi had also clashed with the Foreign Affairs minister Sibusiso Moyo who had issued a statement distancing the government from the former musician’s remarks which mocked the Tanzanian President, John Magufuli’s strategies of fighting the coronavirus.
