After taking a break from acting to enjoy motherhood and focusing on establishing her foundation, actress Zinhle Ngwenya made a return on Isibaya last night.
Ngwenya portrays the role of Sihle, the wife of the late chief of Amabovu nation Zweli Ngubane who was played by the late Andile Gumbi. She explained that Sihle returns to the soapie to cause more headache and drama for the Ngubane clan.
Speaking to Sowetan, Ngwenya neé Mabena, said: “Sihle is always pushing her motive, and she returns this time to claim what is for her son. Of course, the story will develop into something else and if you know Sihle well she always want money and power.”
According to Ngwenya, Sihle returns to eBhubesini as a persona non grata and wanting to reclaim her old status as Mamndlunkulu (chief’s wife). Apart from fighting to be in the thick of things, Sihle would find that a lot has changed in eBhubesini.
“If Sihle could kill her husband for power, she would use her son to get whatever she wants. She is coming back at the right time with a lot of drama happening, but she would not be joining in any fight, she will focus on what she wants.”
She added: “Her struggle is different and she does not care about others who want their hands in the riches of eBhubesini. Sihle is selfish that is why she does not mind fighting alone. But she is likely to use all people that we’re rooting for her when things were not going well to get what she wants.”
In real life, Ngwenya is a married mother of two. She has been busy with her foundation which works with others to fight the scourge of nyaope in communities.-Sowetan
