WARNING, DISTRESSING CONTENT: The white pickup truck, which belongs to the forensics department, appeared to be transferring piles of dead bodies and accidentally dropped one in the middle of the road

A shocking video showing a dead body lying on a street after falling off a pickup truck has sparked concerns of rising coronavirus cases in a central American country.

The incident took place in front of Cuscatlan Market in the department of the same name in El Salvador on Thursday, October 1.

In the footage, a wrapped body is seen lying in the middle of a busy street as shocked motorists drive past.

It appears that the corpse had fallen off a nearby pickup truck loaded with piles of dead bodies.

A forensics worker is seen guiding the driver to reverse to where the body was.

According to El Salvador Times, the body was being transported by forensics officials when the cadaver suddenly tumbled off the back into the street in front of stunned bystanders.

Upon realising what happened, Forensic Medicine employees got out of the pickup truck and stopped the traffic to lift the body of the deceased back on board.

It is unclear whether the employees forgot to fasten the body and the vehicle correctly.

There were no reports confirming if the bodies were coronavirus victims.

The clip has since been shared widely on Twitter and sparked concerns among the citizens.
