A Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Officer was today beaten up by an angry mob after a pirate commuter omnibus (kombi) they were chasing hit and killed a woman along Simon Mazorodze Road in Harare.
Information reaching Harare Live indicates that police officers chasing after a kombi operating without due authority during the covid-19 pandemic, while escaping law enforcers, hit and killed a woman rousing an angry mob.
A police officer was beaten and stripped while the rest of his partners escaped at the hands of many unidentified individuals.
Pictures show a clearly terrified police officer begging for mercy as the marauding crowd took turns beating him up.

The incident, however, was met with mixed emotions as some felt the crowd actually broke the law by venting anger on an officer f the law assigned to deal with such errant kombi driver.
Kombi driver should not have been running away from the police. Thats a crime by Kombi driver. There is no crime committed by the police. The mobb is also committing a crime directing their anger at the police. Police have a right to chase a kombi thats running away from the law
Government embarked on a ZUPC0 facility requiring Kombi owners to register with them to be able to operate lawfully.
Many business owners have shunned the deal citing low returns.
