Former Zimbabwe Investment Authority Richard Mubaiwa has succumbed to covid-19 on Saturday.
This was revealed by businessman Busisa Moyo speaking of his loyalty and hard work.

Nigel Chanakira also echoed the same sentiments bemoaning the havoc being caused by covid-19;
I’m at a loss for words. COVID-19 is wreaking untold havoc for us as Zimbabwe. More is now required of our efforts to fight this pandemic; more prevention, more hands-on deck, more donors, more facilities, more PPE, more salaries for frontline staff, more astuteness,…RIP Richard.
RICHARD MBAIWA was Chief Executive Officer at Zimbabwe Investment Authority and an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. He joined the then Zimbabwe Investment Centre in 1994 as an Investment Promotion Officer and rose through the ranks until he was appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of Zimbabwe Investment Authority in 2008 after the merger of Zimbabwe Investment Centre (ZIC) and Zimbabwe Export Processing Zones Authority (ZEPZA). Previously he worked for the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) (1992-1994) as a Trade Development Executive and also the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (1986-1992) where he served in various capacities in the International Trade Division. Mr. Mbaiwa is a holder of a BSc (Hons), Economics and Masters in Business Administration (MBA), both from the University of Zimbabwe. In addition, he has a number of postgraduate qualifications in leadership and management and other areas such as Quality Management, Marketing Management, Attracting Foreign Direct Investment, and Export Promotion.
