FORMER Kaizer Chiefs player Lucky Maselesele has criticised Zimbabwean star Khama Billiat, saying he should leave the club.

Maselesele accused the Warriors star of wanting special treatment at the club which is affecting his performance.

He also mentioned Itumeleng Khune as another player who should leave Naturena.

“Let Khama go too, he doesn’t suit Gavin Hunt because he doesn’t believe in praising and begging players.

Billiat wants to be treated in a certain way different from other players,” said Maselesele as quoted by Kick-Off.

Billiat scored once in 16 appearances across all competitions before his injury last month.

“When we advise these players, they say we are jealous because we never received R200k (salaries) like them and they think they are bigger than everyone, which affects their performances,” he said.

Billiat is reportedly the highest-paid player in South Africa.

The former striker feels Chiefs should also part ways with Billiat, whose contract expires at the end of the current season.

The Zimbabwean has been linked with moves to Egyptian sides Al Ahly, Zamalek and Pyramids. “Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi may not be happy with something but they always give the same performances because they take their work seriously. They know where they get their salaries, they don’t take it easy because of their achievements,” he said.

The controversial remarks also took aim at Khune, who has endured his fair share of criticism for some of his blunders in this campaign

After Khune’s latest mistake in the defeat to AmaZulu, Maselesele feels the Soweto giants should have cut ties with the shot-stopper a long time ago.

“Khune must leave. He should’ve left long time ago. He is one of those players that want to be begged because he believes he deserves special treatment because of what he has achieved at the club.
