Five people were burnt beyond recognition in a road accident along Masvingo-Mbalabala highway.
The accident occurred when a Toyota Mark X traveling from Masvingo collided with a Toyota Corrolla which was coming from the opposite direction.
This comes after two people were killed while three others were injured when a Honda Fit they were travelling in collided with a train yesterday.
The accident happened along Chiremba Road in Hillside area, Harare.
On the same day again, it was also reported that eight people died while 11 others were injured in a horrific accident involving a haulage truck and a commuter omnibus in Bulawayo.
The accident occurred at the traffic light intersection at Nkulumane Shopping Complex at around 5 am. The haulage truck was travelling from Nkulumane while the omnibus was heading to the Bulawayo central business district, coming from Pumula South.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the accident:
The ZRP confirms a fatal RTA which occurred at the intersection of Masiyephambili and Khami Rd today at 0500 hours where six people died while 11 others were injured. A non-Zupco Toyota Hiace Kombi with 17 occupants went through a red robot and rammed into a moving truck before it wastrapped between the horse and trailer and dragged for about 30 metres.
In other news, iHarare reported that census enumerators are encountering violent hostilities from respondents.
The attacks on enumerators have triggered fears that data being collected from the ongoing programme could be compromised.
On Monday, Ministry of Information spokesman, Nick Mangwana revealed that there have been several reports of enumerators being assaulted.
Also, one enumerator was sacked after she turned up for work drunk.
