Sikhala spends another night in jail as court continues until 7 p.m.; CCC lawmakers face weekend detention as well.

Job Sikhala, the deputy national chairperson of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), and Godfrey Sithole, a fellow lawmaker, spent their third night in jail on Thursday as the court sessions didn’t wrap up until after 7 o’clock.

CCC officials are concerned that the court appearance would once again be delayed in order to keep the two in jail over the weekend after Deputy Chief Magistrate Godfrey Mandaza moved the hearing to Friday.

After altercations rocked the wake and memorial rituals for slain CCC party activist Moreblessing Ali, Sikhala and Sithole are facing accusations of public violence.

At the Beatrice house of alleged Zanu PF supporter and murder suspect Pius Jamba, Ali’s body was discovered last Saturday hacked into pieces and dumped into a well.

Since being detained, Jamba must now appear in court.
