MAN-OF-THE-MOMENT Mark Ngwazi is currently basking in glory as songs, from his latest album Nharo Nezvine Nharo, are topping the local radio charts.
One of his songs titled Vakadzi was number one on National FM Top 20 weekend show, while the favourite song off his album, Nyaradzo Yababa, landed on number two in its second week on Radio Zimbabwe.
It seems Nyaradzo Yababa will battle for top spot against Makazvinzwepi by the sungura kingpin, Alick Macheso, which has been on number one for two weeks.
Ngwazi said he was pleased to note that his music was doing well, against other top artists, on the radio chart shows.
“It feels good to know that my music has been well received by the people.
“I am also happy to notice that we are doing well on local radio charts.
“There are many great musicians in Zimbabwe, and to do well in those charts makes me feel excited,” he said.
The Taurai Madzoka singer also revealed how elated he was with the successful shows they are holding as the current album has caused waves in the country.
“The album seems to be a successful project by the look of things. The gigs we are doing show that the album has made an impact. People know the songs.
“Everywhere we are holding shows there is a tremendous atmosphere as people know about this album,” he told H-Metro.
Ngwazi said the people were the best judges who will decide who deserves to win accolades for this year’s work.
“As for awards for this year, I can’t say much so far, because I can’t judge my work.
“Although I wish to win, it is the people who choose.
“And, there are also many good artists who are yet to release projects,” said Ngwazi.
He said he already has two unreleased albums and 318 songs.
“I could have released two albums this year but my fans stopped me from doing that.
“There are two albums that are ready and already have titles.
“They are called Masters Of Disaster and Bhazi Haritsike Ari Mugomo.
“I also have 318 unreleased songs.
“On albums, I will choose with my team which one will be released first.
“People should expect more great works because we will be trying to surpass all our previous work,” he said.
Ngwazi has seven albums to his name among them are; Charger Yetsono (2018), Chamugwedugwedu Chamatindike (2020) and Nharo Nezvine Nharo (2020).
