Soul Jah Love Memorial Gala Date Announced

SOUL Jah Love might have died but his legacy still lives on.

The Conquering Family founder will be remembered on August 6 at Glamis Arena, through a potentially explosive memorial gala, thanks to Chipaz Promotions.

Chibaba, as the talented chanter was fondly known, succumbed to diabetes on February 16, last year.

He was 31.

Following his death, music promoters have been planning his memorial show but could not do so due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following the lifting of curfew hours, Partson Chimbodza, of Chipaz Promotions, has decided to organise the much-anticipated bash in honour of the legend.

Zim dancehall stalwarts − Freeman, Killer T and Kinnah − will headline the event.

Fellow chanters including King Shaddy, Super Yut, Seh Calaz, Dobba Don, Blot, Hwinza, Jah Master, Tocky Vibes and Uncle Epaton are also part of the bill.

Popular emcees Godfatha Templeman, Abisha Palmer and Merciless Zimbabwe are also part of the line-up.

An array of upcoming artists is also expected to perform at the event.

In an interview with H-Metro, Chimbodza said it was all systems go.

“Soul Jah Love was a legend and torch bearer in Zim dancehall, as we all know.

“His death was a huge loss to the nation but his legacy still lives on.

“As such, he deserves the respect befitting the legend he was,” he said.

Chimbodza said all the artists on the banner will be available for the event.

“As trend-setters in the game, we don’t usually disappoint our fans.

“In fact, we always make sure that they are satisfied to ensure that we keep them entertained.

“Being a mega event, we hope to start early to ensure that all the artists on the poster get a chance to perform at the event,” he added.
