Tsenengamu warns ZANU PF youths, “You Are Being Used.”

Godfrey Tsenengamu, a former political commissar for the ZANU PF Youth League, claims that the senior leadership of the party is giving his former colleagues false hope.

Tsenengamu, who currently serves as the leader of the Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), claimed that senior ZANU PF figures don’t care about the welfare of young people and are just interested in providing possibilities for their offspring and girlfriends. On Facebook, he wrote:

False hope nguva ichipera muri kupiwa (you are wasting time holding onto false hope).

It is unfortunate that you elect them to the office with the expectation that they will serve you, give you power, and open up chances for you when all they need is that authority to defend and protect their financial investments and interests.

They also wish to utilize that power to deal with you when you endanger their source of income and give possibilities to their children and girlfriends instead of you.

Even at your party, you are only represented by a group of bootlickers, praise-singers, and parrots, which makes the situation worse

After being suspended the month before for saying that key aides to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, notably Kuda Tagwirei, had taken over state institutions and were operating cartels, Tsenengamu was expelled from ZANU PF in March 2020.

In a press conference, he and the then-deputy youth secretary Lewis Matutu had made the accusations.

Tsenengamu was expelled from ZANU PF in March 2020 following his suspension the previous month for alleging that top allies of President Emmerson Mnangagwa including Kuda Tagwirei, had captured State institutions and were running cartels.

The Politburo spared Matutu from being sacked, but Tsenengamu was let go because he refused to accept responsibility and undertake ideological reorientation
