Cop Shoots Lover Dead Over Condom Receipt

A man was shot dead by his police officer partner after a heated argument about a condom receipt found in his trousers on Sunday, 18 September, in Woodland, south of Durban.

It’s alleged that a female officer who is stationed at Durban Harbour used her state pistol to shoot her lover.

Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) spokeswoman Lizzy Suping said the officer handed herself over to the police after the incident.

“It is alleged that the officer had an argument with her partner after she found a receipt for condoms in his trousers. The confrontation led to the fatal shooting of the victim. A state pistol was used to commit the crime,”  Lizzy Suping said on Tuesday.

She said the officer made her first appearance in court on Tuesday, 20 September, for the alleged murder of her boyfriend over a condom receipt.

Meanwhile, the case of the Marianhill officer who appeared in the Pinetown Magistrates Court for the alleged kidnapping and murder of a suspect has been remanded in custody for formal bail application.

According to the Ipid spokeswoman, the accused officer allegedly took in a suspect for questioning on 21 August this year, and the suspect disappeared afterward.
