Tongayi Chirisa Stars In Hollywood’s Mayfair Witches Series
Tongayi Chirisa, a Zimbabwean actor, will be delving into the realm of the supernatural when he joins the cast of the upcoming Mayfair Witches series on the American multi-national cable channel AMC.
Dr Rowan Fielding, a perceptive young neurosurgeon (Alexandra Daddario), learns that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches in Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. A sinister presence that has followed Rowan’s family for many generations must be faced as she struggles with her newly discovered powers.
Additionally, the cast includes Jack Huston (Fargo) as the shape-shifting entity Lasher, Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House) as Diedre Mayfair, Erica Gimpel (God Friended Me) as Ellie Mayfair, and Jen Richards (Better Things) as Jojo. Harry Hamlin (L.A. Law) plays Cortland Mayfair.

Tongayi Chirisa portrays Ciprien Grieve, an investigator, in the movie Mayfair Witches. Grieve is dispatched on a covert mission to monitor Dr Rowan Fielding and the Mayfairs.
There is no Ciprien Grieve in the Mayfair Witches novels, but AMC created the character, especially for the show. Many characters from the book series, including Aaron Lightner and Michael Curry, are said to have been combined to create the character.
For Tongayi Chirisa, who continues to fly the Zimbabwean flag in the United States, this is a promising beginning. Chirisa had a fantastic year of roles in 2022 on shows like Women of the Movement. He co-starred in the Netflix production Trees of Peace with fellow Zimbabwean Charmaine Bingwa, and he also appeared in the shows The Anthrax Attacks and Next Exit.
