Addams Family Actress Dies

THE original Wednesday Addams Family actress Lisa Loring died aged 64 after she suffered a “massive stroke.”

The tragic news of her death was shared by her good friend Laure Jacobson who said the actress died on Saturday after being taken off life support.

She said in a Facebook post: “It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure.

“She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night.

“She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams.

“Beautiful, kind, a loving mother, Lisa’s legacy in the world of entertainment is huge.

“And the legacy for her family and friends — a wealth of humor, affection and love will long play in our memories. RIP, Lisa. Damn, girl…you were a ton of fun.”

Loring’s iconic role has been back in the spotlight following Jenna Ortega’s portrayal in the hit Netflix series Wednesday.

Loring played the original Wednesday in the first live-action adaptation of Charles Addams’ New Yorker cartoons, Deadline reported.

The show ran for two years from 1964 to 1966 and had a total of 64 episodes.

Loring went on to reprise her iconic role in the TV film Halloween with the New Addams Family in 1977.

The actress was born as Lisa Ann DeCinces in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands in 1958.

She also took part in The Phyllis Diller Show, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., Fantasy Island, Barnaby Jones and As the World Turns.

Her last work was in the film Doctor Spine in 2015.
