Mass Country Album Cover Predicted AKA’s Death: Megacy

Members of the Megacy – the legion of fans belonging to slain rapper AKA – are at it again with their wild conspiracy theories. And this time, they’re roping in his upcoming album Mass Country.

According to social media sleuths, the artwork for his album – which drops on Friday, 24 February – “predicted” his death through various symbolic imagery.

AKA – real name Kiernan Forbes – was shot and killed by unknown gunmen on 10 February outside a Florida Road hotspot in Durban. He was laid to rest over the weekend.

WHO DESIGNED ‘MASS COUNTRY’?

Last month, AKA introduced the artwork for Mass Country, designed by Karabo Poppy. The artwork featured the signature imagery of the celebrated designer.

In an Instagram post precisely a month to the day before he died, AKA praised the cover as a “priceless art piece.”

DID THE ALBUM PREDICT AKA’S DEATH?

Since his death, Twitter “detectives” have been running wild with theories about his death.

From CCTV footage from the night he died, to “suspects” from his inner circle, to imagery shown at his memorial service, social media users have had plenty to say.

Now, several tweeps from the Megacy are sharing their theories on why they believe the artwork behind Mass Country predicted his death.

According to several fans, several images on the cover had symbolic meanings.

They included:

  • A picture of a skull – referring to where a hitman shot him
  • A hair comb – AKA visited a barber on the day he was killed
  • Several stars – AKA’s last meal was at a restaurant called “Wish.”
  • Mountains – representing Kwa-Zulu Natal, where he was shot, or Cape Town, where he was born
  • A snake – indicating the “betrayal” from his inner circle
  • The number 94 – AKA was reportedly shot and killed at 9:40 pm.
  • A BMW – representing the “getaway” car
