Mbare Drug Lord Dama Arrested

THIRTY-one-year-old Simbarashe Chanachimwe, popularly known as Dama who was on the police wanted list in connection with unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs, has been arrested.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said Chanachimwe was arrested after police raided his place in Mbare on the 9th of this month and found 26 sachets of dagga.

This comes after the police have been embarking on a nationwide campaign against drugs. More than 200 drug peddlers have been arrested

Speaking to Youths yesterday :

The president has said,
“Ndakaudza mapurisa kuti mukawana akasticker take them until they reach sobriety and find out where they procured the drug, when they reveal their peddler, arrest them and make them reveal their own supplier until we track and break the whole supply chain.”ED

The ZRP Harare Province has intensified the fight against drug and substance abuse after the launch of an operation, “No to Dangerous Drugs and Illicit Substances: See Something, Say Something,”

The Police is conducting raids, stop-and-search blitz and awareness campaigns. The public is urged to report anyone abusing drugs or offering drugs to the youths at any nearest Police Station. #notoillegaldrugs.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said they have arrested at least four people in isolated incidents of drug possession and trafficking in the past week.

In numerous statements on Twitter, ZRP said on January 20, through their ‘No to cross border crimes’, had intercepted a truck carrying a passenger in possession of dagga.

“Members of the Police deployed on operation, ‘No to cross border crimes’, arrested Zenzo Mangena (38) at Bubi roadblock, along Beitbridge Masvingo Road, for illegal possession of dagga.

“The dagga was packed in three plastic bags which were stashed in a UD 90 truck in which the suspect was travelling in. The weight and value of dagga are yet to be ascertained,” read the ZRP statement on Twitter.
