R1 Million Reward For Capture Of City Of Cape Town Official’s Killers

A million rand reward is now on offer in exchange for information that could lead to the successful prosecution of a City of Cape Town official’s killers.

Wendy Kloppers was shot and killed while on-site at the Delft Symphony Way housing project last month.

The initial reward was R100,000 but Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis said that it had since been bumped up after a private donor came forward.

The mayor said that anyone with information should come forward.

Hill-Lewis is again calling on police to do whatever it takes to catch Kloppers’ killers.

He said that while the motive for the shooting remained unclear, it was part of a trend of violence directed at the Delft Symphony Way housing project.

The same project had been targeted by petrol bombing and further shootings just the previous week.

The city said that it would continue to pursue its six-point plan to help reduce incidents of violence, criminality and extortion threatening some R1 billion in projects.
