8 South African Celebs Who Were Shot Dead

Here is a list of eight south African celebriries who were shot dead over the years. We all adored hem and were in love with their proffessional skills but, unfortunately, their lives were cut shot. It really pains to note that most of their alleged killers have not been accounted for.

Lucky Dube was a South African Reggae musician who was famous all over the world. His music touched a lot of people in South Africa and in Africa. In 2007, he was shot dead by carjackers. He died at the spot at the age of 43 years old. The murderer were arrested and imprisoned to life in prison

Senzo Meyiwa was Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper. In 2014, he was gun down at his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo. He died upon arrival at the hospital. His case is still in the courts nine years on, and South Africans are deeply interested in finding out who killed or ordered a hit on Senzo Meyiwa.

Dumi Masilela was a South African musician and actor. A lot of people recognise him for portraying a character as Sfiso on Rhythm city. In 2017, he was shot by robbers who were trying to hijack his car. After being shot he drove away. He was taken to hospital were he died after loosing too much blood during surgery. He was 29 years old at the time of his death.

DJ Citi Lyts whose real name is Sandile Nkululeko Mkhize was a South African hip hop artist. In February 2022, while standing outside in Soweto with his friends. A car stopped by and fired ten shots at DJ Citi Lyts’ upper body, and he died. Until now, no one was arrested. He passed away at the age of 32.

DJ Somebody whose real is Oupa John Sefoka was an Artist. He died after being shot by a hails of bullets in the November 2022. He died at the age of 46.

AKA whose real name is Kiernan Forbes was a South African well known musician. In February 2023, he was shot dead in Durban Florida road. He died at the spot. He was 35 years old at the time of his death.

Mandla Hlatshwayo was a South African Actor who was known for acting on Generations. In 2007, he was shot while trying to save ladies who were being robbed.

 Reeva Steenkamp was a South African model. She was shot by his boyfriend on Valentine’s day. His boyfriend claimed that he thought there were intruders in his house. So he shot and killed her. Luckily he was found guilty and he serving his time in prison.

Actor Thandeka Mdeliswa was killed after she was shot at her family’s home.
According to police, she died after an argument between two men and her brother turned violent.
