Lesego (19) Locks family Inside House, Vanishes For The Second Time

Renolda Neufan (45) needs help to find her missing daughter, Lesego Neufan (19).

The grade 12 pupil from extension 5 in Mamelodi East, Tshwane was last seen on Sunday, 26 February at about 4am.

Renolda said Lesego locked the family inside the house while they were still asleep and left that morning without saying a word.

She said her daughter, who is a pupil at Willowridge High School, was elected as a prefect a week before she vanished.

“My daughter doesn’t like grooving and doesn’t have many friends,” she said.

Renolda told Daily Sun that she and Lesego were friends, and they spoke about everything.

“Her being missing has affected me as I am weak and struggling to cope. I have lost weight for not knowing where my daughter is and where and how is she sleeping,” she said, adding that all her clothes were still in the house.

“Furthermore, I have asked my relatives and friends to help us look for her. What scares me is that her cellphone is off.”

Renolda said that in 2021, her daughter went missing for nine days and was found in Benoni, Ekurhuleni.

She said she couldn’t remember what happened or how she got there.

“She told me that she was somewhere with a lot of people. She was found unharmed though traumatized,” said Renolda.

Mamelodi East police spokesman Constable Lethabo Mashiloane confirmed a missing persons case was opened on 8 March.

He appealed to the public for assistance in finding Lesego, who was last seen leaving the house by a family member on 26 February at about 4 am.

“Anyone who has information on her whereabouts is urged to contact SAPS Mamelodi East on 012 815 7000, CrimeStop on 08600 10111 or alternatively submit information through the My SAPS app. There is no waiting period to report missing a person,” he said.
