Teenage Girl’s Body Found In Seville Village Dam

Fisherman discovered a teenage girl’s lifeless body floating in the Seville Village dam.

On Sunday, March 12, three young men were fishing when they noticed a half-naked body floating on the dam in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.

The fishermen then went to the village to notify their leaders, who called the cops.

Village assistant induna Simeon Mthabine told Daily Sun that they have managed to identify the girl.

“The adolescent (17) is a grade 11 student at Manyangani High School in a nearby Utah Village. As she is originally from Phalaborwa in Limpopo, she was renting a room in the village “He stated.

He said her phone was recovered on the floor of her room and some shoe print marks around the yard show that there was a fight the night before.

Her boyfriend whom she was last seen with that night claimed that he took her home after they spent time grooving at a local tavern.

“He said he left her in the room and doesn’t know what happened afterwards. It appears she might have been killed elsewhere before her body was thrown into the dam. So we are working with the police and her family until her killers are brought to book and face the mighty hand of law,” he said.

Saddened School Governing Body member Thandi Mathebula confirmed that the deceased girl was a grade 11 pupil at Manyangani High School and her family in Phalaborwa has been informed.

Captain S’fiso Nyakane confirmed a case of murder has been opened.

“The deceased had bruises around the neck, chest and at the back of her body. Postmortem will determine if there are rape penetrations. We appeal to the community to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Detective Sergeant Collen Nyalungu on 076 9367 222,” he said.
