Guests Turned Away From Gloria Bosman Funeral

THE funeral of the late Gloria Bosman had to be held privately because the catering cost was too high.

On Sunday, 19 March, most people and the media were turned away from the funeral held at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, Soweto.

The SunTeam was told that the family had decided at the last minute to invite only close relatives and friends. Security guards had a guest list and turned away anyone not on the list.

Family spokesman Abram Bosman told Daily Sun that the cost of catering was too high.

“The decision to make it private was because of the caterers. They wanted to cash in. The prices were unreasonable, so we had to make a plan. We did not want people to be hungry, especially the children.

“The aim was to bury her and people were charging unreasonable prices. So, we decided to hold funeral privately instead of spending a lot of money,” Abram said.

He said that the funeral went well. Gloria as buried in the Heroes’ Acre at Westpark Cemetery next to the grave of rapper AKA.

But Abram denied that people were turned away from the funeral venue.

“No one was turned away from the gate. I was there making sure people got in. There were people who were not close friends who were allowed in,” he said.
