Davido’s friend Igho Ubiribo and his Zimbabwean wife Danielle Simba Allen are wanted by law enforcement in Nigeria for allegedly recruiting teenage girls into drug trafficking.
The influencer couple is wanted together with Port Harcourt-based prophetess and founder of Christ Power Adoration Ministries, Faith Ugochi.
The shocking development comes a year after their glamourous lobola event that shut down Zimbabwe.
The event was graced by award-winning musician Davido who described Igho Ubiribo, affectionately known as Tiny, as a childhood friend.
“I call the groom Tiny because we grew up together and I am happy for him that he has found Daniella. I wish them success and happy, peace and loving marriage,” Davido said at the time.
Igho Ubiribo and Danielle Simba Allen’s Roles In The Drug Trafficking Syndicate
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently revealed that Igho Ubiribo and his wife, along with Faith Ugochi, are believed to be contact points of an international drug syndicate operating from Los Angeles, USA.
This came to light after NDLEA operatives intercepted a consignment of higher-quality cannabis, known by its street name Loud, weighing 32.70 kilograms, concealed in cartons of used clothing at the NAHCO import shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on November 16th of last year.
Upon the discovery of the consignment, a freight agent Ukoh Ifeanyi Oguguo was arrested together with four other suspects.
The anti-drug agency arrested two girls who assisted them with investigations which eventually led to the arrest of Edward Omatseye. Edward told police he works for Igho and his wife, Danielle, whom he identified as the overall leaders of the drug syndicate.
Further investigations established that Prophetess Faith Ugochi used her church platform to recruit teenage girls brought to her for help on behalf of the celebrity couple. After being summoned by the police for questioning, she went into hiding and has never been heard from ever since.
Igho Ubiribo And Wife Go Into Hiding
When Igho Ubiribo and Danielle Simba Allen were initially invited by the police, they sent a lawyer to request a different time to honour the invitation. During this period, all funds linked to their company, Lasgidi Backwood Ltd, where proceeds from the sale of illicit drugs were deposited, were transferred to a private account under the name Victor Imagoro.
The agency has since blocked the sum of Eighty Million Naira (N80,000,000) traced to the account and obtained a court order to seize all properties including a fuel station linked to the suspects in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
Danielle Simba Allen and her husband have also gone into hiding.
