Watch: Bold Fuel Attendant Saves Passengers In Burning Taxi

South Africans are praising a selfless petrol attendant who risked his life to save passengers from a raging taxi fire at a fuel station.

A video of the near-tragic occurrence was initially posted by user Peche Africa and reposted by Vehicle Trackers.

The exact location of the incident is yet to be identified, as the video detailing the shaking incident was extracted from CCTV footage. The Citizen suggested the van could have burnt down in Gauteng based on its registration plates.

JUST BEFORE THE TAXI FIRE

A taxi recently stopped by a petrol station to fill its tank before continuing its journey at about half capacity. After one attendant had received payment from the Toyota Hiace, the driver disengaged the handbrakes, and the vehicle inched back then slightly forward before halting.

As he tried to move the vehicle, a sudden ball of fire exploded underneath the taxi, sending the passengers into a disturbing frenzy.

The two passengers at the front frantically agitated to exit the fiery trap, and the doors would not open. In a few seconds, a braze seeped into the front of the taxi from beneath, and one passenger had to break the front door forcefully.

Fuel Attendant Rushes To The Taxi Fire

As the resistant doors dangled while hinged to the car, one valiant petrol attendant sprinted towards the raging inferno and tried to open the door. One passenger leapt through the window while other terrified commuters bust through the glass panels and fell awkwardly to the ground.

The brave attendant then yanked the sliding door, and the passengers swiftly disembarked from the vehicle as the uncontrollable blaze spread in the taxi and thick black fumes wrapped it.

Despite the glaring danger, the valiant petrol attendant went to help drag people stuck in the taxi while those already safe scrambled for their belongings.

 

The Fuel Attendant Puts Out The Fire

The attendant pulled the door open for the last time to check if anyone remained in the engulfed van and took off before the whole service station blew up.

The hero rushed back with a fire extinguisher and doused the inferno before the taxi could explode.
