They had a family ceremony over the weekend and there were some leftover meat, unfortunately not enough for everyone. This led to an argument between two brothers who fought over the meat. The family from Sawpits Reserve in Mbumbulu, KZN got the shock of their life when a man (44) stabbed his older brother(54) to death over this.
WAKING UP HIS BROTHER’S FAMILY
It is alleged that the incident happened on Monday night after 10 pm when the suspect came home from drinking and demanded leftover meat. According to SAPS spokesperson Robert Netshiunda, the suspect was told that his older brother took the remaining meat and left with it. “The suspect allegedly went to his brother’s house and demanded to be given the meat. It was late at night and his brother’s family was already asleep. He insisted until they opened for him and he allegedly started a fight,” said Netshiunda.
SUSPECT DETAINED
Netshiunda said the older brother was stabbed on the left side of his chest.” He tried to seek help but unfortunately bled to death. The younger brother was beaten to a pulp by family and community members and after that, the cops were called in.” He said the suspect was taken to hospital by the police and later detained at uMbumbulu SAPS. He will appear in court soon.
