Women accused of being a witch after neighbour’s children mysterious deaths
A woman from Njube suburb in Bulawayo is facing a hard time as she is being accused by her neighbour of practicing witchcraft and being the one behind the death of her two minor children who died mysteriously one after the other.
Norah Ndlovu claimed that her neighbour Sibonisiwe Ncube came out guns blazing accusing her of having cast a spell on her children causing them to die mysteriously.
Ndlovu said Ncube who branded her a witch tarnished her image when she warned other women in the suburb to be on high alert saying she might also kill their children.
Ndlovu reported Ncube at Njube Police Station but the situation never changed for the better.
Instead of smoking a peace pipe with her neighbour, Ncube confronted her at her house and bashed her.
Ndlovu ended up applying for a peace order at Western Commonage Court.
“I’m applying for a peace order against Sibusisiwe Ncube who is my neighbour. She labels me a witch who mysteriously cast a spell on her children.
“She claimed that every time she gave birth her child would mysteriously die and I am the one causing that.
“She even confronts me at my house to insult and bash me. She has tarnished my reputation in the community as most of the people now believe that I’m a witch.
“I now live in fear that she might end up killing me and I’m praying that this honourable court grants me a peace order to protect me from her violent behaviour,” she begged.
Ndlovu’s prayers were answered when the presiding magistrate Sikhethile Moyo granted her the peace order.
Ncube was ordered not to verbally and physically abuse Ndlovu. B Metro
