‘7de Laan’ Actor Who Killed Lover Unmasked

The mysterious South African actor who allegedly is cast on soap opera 7de Laan has been identified after a huge social media outcry as to why his identity was being kept under wraps.

Gregg Pettigrew is the one, according to News24, who allegedly shot and killed his 29-year-old lover in his Kempton Park, Gauteng home before attempting to commit suicide on Thursday, 13 April.

It is believed police rushed to the 51-year-old actor Gregg Pettigrew’s house after his landlord made an emergency call.

 

Norkem Park Police spokesperson Colonel Barbara-Anne Ferreira told News24 they found a dead male on the scene: “The other male was still in the bed, next to the male, and he had a firearm in his hand and was drowsy. We noticed that there were tablets. He drank an overdose of tablets.”

Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi revealed to The South African on Friday, 14 April that the man is currently at the local hospital under police guard. The circumstances that led to this incident are unknown at this stage and police investigations continue.

Jacaranda News reveals that the actor is facing charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm. He is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

WHO IS THE ACTOR’S LOVER?

It is unclear at this stage who the actor Gregg Pettigrew’s lover is as the family hasn’t released a statement to the media..

7de Laan’s public relations manager Kayleen Bessit revealed to The Citizen the production can only confirm for now that the actor, who shot and killed his lover on Thursday, 13 April is not a current cast member.

The actor Gregg Pettigrew has appeared in the KykNET Afrikaans soapie Getroud met Rugby: Die Sepie season six as Ge, Mzansi Magic’s The Queen as a doctor, MNET’s Legacy, and has also appeared in the cooking show Come Dine With Me, according to TVSA.

Norkem Park Police spokesperson Colonel Barbara-Anne Ferreira says the family of the deceased was traumatised.
