Makhadzi Disappoints Fans Again In Limpopo
Award-winning singer Makhadzi has pulled another rat-snake stunt on her illustrious career when she failed to pitch for a paid gig in Limpopo over the Easter weekend.
The Ganama hitmaker was booked by businessman Jeffrey Malatji to perform at the official opening of his state-of-the-art joint, Ejays Lounge, in Moime village outside Tzaneen on Saturday alongside Master KG and King Monada, among others.
But the Milandu Bhe crooner left a legion of her fans high and dry when she failed to show up without extending an apology to the businessman, opening him up for a possible attack by her galaxy of fans who wanted to be serenaded by their object of obsession.

Speaking to Sunday World, Malatji said he paid Makhadzi’s record label Open Mic R45 000 for her to come and strut her stuff at the event, which drew thousands of patrons. He said the revered artist King Monada, whom he had hired as event organiser, paid the money into Open Mic’s account for the songbird to come and belt her songs.
“Usually, she charges more than R45 000, but we agreed with her on that amount because she had suggested that instead of charging her normal appearance fee, King Monada should rather come and perform at her show at Rabali Stadium in Venda for free early on that day,” he said.
“I was surprised when Monada ascended the stage at about 4am on Sunday morning and started performing in her slot,” he said.
He said he approached Makhadzi’s boss Molao Rammalo, about Makhadzi’s whereabouts. Rammalo responded by saying he did not know where the songstress was.
“There were too many people who came there to see her perform, but left disappointed when she failed to show up,” he said. Makhadzi’s failure to honour the agreement did not only put his business at risk but also left a smudge on his reputation.
“People could have resorted to violence and damaged my property because of her,” said Malatji.
“Remember [that] you are dealing with people who were not sober and who paid a lot of money to see her. But luckily no violence broke out. But some people think we lied when we said Makhadzi was coming to the show.”
Malatji said what left his heart bleeding was that Makhadzi did not even bother to send him or King Monada a message explaining her reason for marooning her fans or extend an olive branch to them for breaching their agreement.
“I loved Makhadzi, we wanted to support her, but I feel disrespected and violated by her conduct. I’m disappointed. “We need our money back because we can’t organise another show for her, because that will mean organising a sound or stage for her sole performance. That will be too costly. It’s not going to happen.”
Malatji said when he confronted Makhadzi, she said she did not attend the show because King Monada did not pay her.
“When I confronted Monada, he insisted that he had paid Makhadzi. I really don’t know who is telling me the truth,” Malatji said.
Both King Monada and Makhadzi were not available for comment at the time of going to print.SW
