Manchester United last minute loss to Brighton shutters hope

Brighton have beaten Manchester United 1-0 in the Premier League thanks to a goal from the penalty spot in the 99th minute from Alexis Mac Allister.

Brighton secured a dramatic last-gasp win over Manchester United thanks to Luke Shaw’s handball.

The defender’s error in the dying moments saw Brighton win a penalty, with Alexis Mac Allister slamming it home in the 98th minute to seal three points for the hosts

Manchester United didn’t show up in second half

Manchester United deserved that result for their second-half performance. They didn’t show up after the interval.

Shaw had been pretty faultless until that unnecessary handball.

United’s awful away record against the top 10 continues. Seven losses, one draw, one (last-minute) win.

Brighton jump up two spots to sixth place. Fifth place is well within reach for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

Manchester United stay in fourth place, failing to overtake Newcastle for third as well as missing an opportunity to consolidate their Champions League hopes.
