Another popular DJ assaults girlfriend
A popular Vaal DJ, DJ Panana, real name Reneilwe Mokgampane, has been sacked following accusations of assaulting his girlfriend a few days after DJ Maphorisa was arrested for the same charges.
His model girlfriend, Lee’roy Joycie, took to social media to write a heart-breaking story about being allegedly beaten up by a deejay from Sasolburg.
THE ASSAULT HAS BEEN ONGOING
The allegations against DJ Panana come in the wake of another prominent deejay being accused of assaulting his girlfriend. Maphorisa allegedly beat up his media personality girlfriend, Thuli Phongolo last weekend.
Real name Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, he appeared at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday but Phongolo withdrew the charges.
Meanwhile, Lee’roy Joycie hopes to get justice after her alleged assault incident.
In her Facebook post, she alluded that DJ Panana had been assaulting her before, but she didn’t speak out.
TAKING TO HER SOCIAL MEDIA
She wrote:
“I’m really hurt…I’ve been quiet about this abuse …one of the most well known resident deejays /abuser Reneilwe Mokgampane has done this to me ….
It’s not the first time and I’m not the only one as I know for a fact that he is also a womaniser…..I did not want to put it in public for pity but just as proof and a way of being able to stand a chance to contest his abuse with the SAPS as he has told me to try opening a case and it won’t even reach to a courtroom.”
Lee’roy Joycie is scared that DJ Panana may kill her one day.
The former Vaal University of Technology student wrote,
“Mohlang ke shweleng letsebe hore tlabe ke bolaile ke yena………… haka dumeletseya ho nwella kasi or even date anyone because of him (The day I die, just know that it would be him. I am not allowed to drink anywhere in my neighbour, let alone date anyone because of him).”
One Facebook user Cleopatra Nhla Tlapile, commented on her post and said, “I am so sorry Nana. I hope this will put a stop to what abusers do, proud of you for taking a stand.”
Another of her followers, Thakane Penelope, also claimed on Lee’roy Joycie’s page that DJ Panana also threatened her.
She wrote,” I have nothing against Panana neh…..but seeing that I’m not the only one, I have to say he also threatened to hit me this one time at Groove.”
Another follower said, “My sister I don’t know you but it seems like a lot of females who also got abused by him are willing to come forward, so I think that will get help you build a strong case against him, don’t let it slide.”
Lee’roy Joycie’s story was shared more than 200 times after posting it. When called for comment, the deejay immediately hung up.
