Former Deip City Actress Dawn Thandeka King joins the star-studded cast of e.tv’s telenovela ‘Isitha – The Enemy

Award-winning actress Dawn Thandeka King has joined The Black Door’s spin-off telenovela, Isitha – The Enemy. After kissing her on-screen character of Mashenge goodbye on DiepCity, she will play a lead role in Isitha.
According to City Press, she joins a star-studded cast in the new drama series with award-winning actors, including Sipho Ndlovu and Khanyisani Khwesa. She will star as Royal Chieftess Nomcebo Ngwenya from the Eswatini royal household in e. tv’s new show. According to showrunners, the telenovela will premiere on 22 May 2023 and is filled with drama and thrills.

Dawn Thandeka has fast become one of South Africa’s finest actors, and her unmatched acting flair has wowed viewers.
With a career spanning years, she has starred in several telenovelas, but she is best-known for her on-screen character of MaNgcobo on Uzalo. Isitha – The Enemy is a spin-off based on The Black Door‘s storyline, which introduced viewers to the Sokhulu family’s woes.
And with Isitha – The Enemy, viewers will be introduced to Chuma Sokhulu, who was reported dead in The Black Door. He faces rejection, enemies and dangers at the royal homestead in Eswatini.
The show’s executive producer, Black Brain Pictures’ Mpumelelo Nhlapo, said: “We planned for The Black Door to run for a year as a way to break new ground and push the boundaries of South African television.
“Our vision has always been to tell the story of the Sokhulu family as a multi-chapter series that explores different aspects of their lives and relationships.
