Armed with vomit, soldier messes up Chicken Inn premises

An arrest warrant has been issued by a Bulawayo magistrate for a member of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) who failed to appear in court on Tuesday to answer allegations of malicious property damage.
Imagine Chisiyiwa (23), who is stationed at Induna Barracks on the outskirts of Bulawayo and whose rank was not disclosed in court, was granted the warrant of arrest by Ms Nomagugu Maphosa.
The State asserts that claims that Chisiyiwa vomited at the fast food outlet seating area on March 25 at around one in the morning at a Chicken Inn location in Bulawayo at the intersection of Jason Moyo Street and 8th Avenue are true. One of the staff members allegedly told Chisiyiwa to clean up the mess. After an error in understanding, the accused pursued a staff member to the manager’s office with the intention of assaulting him.
Chisiyiwa is accused of damaging the screen gate by aggressively lifting it with his hands, causing it to collapse. He was arrested and sent to the Bulawayo Central Police Station before being charged. He was initially remanded out of custody until May 9, but he failed to appear in court on that day, resulting in the issuing of the arrest warrant. The overall worth of the destroyed property has yet to be determined.
