Kaizer Chiefs bosses discussing coach Zwane’s future

The Kaizer Chiefs hierarchy is believed to be divided in the backing of current head coach Arthur Zwane according to the latest reports.

Zwane signed a three-year contract with Chiefs at the beginning of the season and seemed to enjoy the full backing from those above him.

At the start of the Zwane-era Chiefs made a massive clear out, getting rid of some experienced players, some of which had not been able to lead Amakhosi to any silverware during their lengthy stays at the club.

After that, Chiefs invested in players who were either younger or in their prime years, like Ashley du PreezZitha KwinikaGeorge MatlouDillon Solomons and Yusuf Maart to name but a few. With new acquisitions Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, 24, Given Msimango, 26, and Mduduzi Mdantsane, 28, all proved consistent with Zwane’s strategy. But if news coming out today is anything to go by, he might not be at the club to oversee the second phase of his vision as head coach next season.

According to SABC Sport, Chiefs are actively looking for a replacement for Zwane just one season into his appointment

SABC Sport now understands the backing Zwane enjoyed from management when he initially took over is shaky, with high-ranking sources indicating the club will actively look for a replacement. According to insiders, Chiefs are likely to exhaust all other alternatives in searching for a coach and failing which, Zwane, who worked his way up as a youth tactician at Naturena after retiring, could get a stay of execution…but with a tight leash.” Wrote their website.
