Kaizer Chiefs makes first move on Ranga Chivaviro

Kaizer Chiefs have been linked to quite a few strikers ahead of the next season and it now seems as if they’re about to act and are thought to be ready to seal a deal with Marumo Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro, if the latest reports are anything to go by.

Just in recent weeks Chiefs have been linked to the likes of Chivaviro, Ashley CupidoBenson OmalaFiston MayeleIqraam Rayners, Etios Ighodaro and Eric Sadia. It now looks as if, they may have settled on the former Venda Academy star.

This may come as a shock as, although they were initially linked to Chivaviro alongside arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, links to both Soweto giants looked to have died down. The player’s agent had even come out saying that there were no calls from any local clubs and if Chiefs called then he would listen, despite wanting to take the player overseas as a first option.

Now it seemed like that wouldn’t materialise when Chivaviro was all of a sudden thought to be closing in on a move beyond the borders, to Yanga SC of Tanzania. It was said that the player was attracted to the prospect of playing CAF Champions League. That is something he won’t be able to do if he goes to Chiefs, but one thing is for sure, according to FARPost, his agent seems to have stuck to his word and answered the Amakhosi’s call.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO MAKE A MOVE FOR CHIVAVIRO THIS WEEK

“The club has contacted Ranga’s management team and expressed interest in signing him. If all goes well, they’ll meet this week and discuss the potential transfer,” A source from Chiefs reportedly told the same publication.

For Chiefs fans, they will be hoping this news is true as they desperately need a goal scorer. Chivaviro scored 17 goals in all competitions for Gallants last season, but ideally for the Amakhosi, they would need to sign at least more striker from the list above if they are to be more competitive in front of goal next season.
