Royal AM’s queen mother Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize is set to appear in a popular Mzansi Magic drama series, as she explores yet another side hustle.
Royal AM owner MaMkhize is adding to her unbelievable CV as she’s set to make an acting cameo on Mzansi Magic’s “Umkhokha”.
MaMkhize was seen reading parts of the script in her IG video where she teased; “Something is loading…” much to the excitement of the show’s fans in the comments.
MaMkhize to star in Mzansi Magic drama series
After making acting cameos on local shows such as “Durban Gen” and hit series “Uzalo”, MaMkhize could be set to add to her acting CV after being spotted reading a scripts from “Umkhokha, The Curse”.
The show is about two families fighting for a church called ‘Ithempeli Lenkosi” after its leader dies. MaMkhize was meant to appear on the show during its first season but the plans fell through as she was committed on getting Royal AM into the DStv Premiership at the time, according to TshisaLive.
TshisaLive also confirmed that the Royal AM owner is close friends with the show’s executive producer Mandla Kheswa, so it comes as no surprise that the door was still open for MaMkhize to appear on the telenovela.

MaMkhize has already been warned about the devious MaMzobe on the show, which is filled with overflowing levels of drama including an unsolved murder, sibling rivalry, and rebellious children.
The show streams on Showmax and plays on Mzansi Magic from Monday to Friday at 20:30, seeing MaMkhize on a major local TV show could make for some ideal off-season viewing.
