Kaizer Chiefs to lose three players

Khama Billiat’s latest injury sums up his Kaizer Chiefs career rather well. He was on the mend, only to be rocked by a setback that surely puts paid to any chances of him earning a contract extension. It’s also no secret that club legend Eric Mathoho will be moving on after over a decade at Naturena, and club captain Itumeleng Khune’s future is far from certain. Although none of these two players had much game time this season, for varying reasons, replacing their presence in the dressing room is no easy task.

MIDFIELD RESHUFFLE EXPECTED
Over and above them, it’s also widely expected that Phatutshedzo Nange, Cole Alexander and Lehlogonolo Matlou will seek new pastures. That’s a lot of change in midfield, and it’s already an area where the club is struggling for consistency and continuity.
Out with the old and in with the new, as they say. Will Chiefs improve next season or will it take some time to adjust to all of these inevitable changes within Naturena? Interesting times.
