Tempers flared and emotions ran high at Venda Princess Masindi Mphephu’s birthday party as a furious argument erupted between musician Makhadzi and the princess herself.

Princess Masindi Mphephu’s birthday party was held in a beautiful lodge in Thohoyandou, Limpopo. According to reports, the incident stemmed from a disagreement over businessman Lawrence Mulaudzi, who has a love relationship with both Makhadzi and the princess.

Makhadzi, invited to perform by Lawrence Mulaudzi, found herself in an unexpected situation as it became apparent that she and the princess were both involved with him. Despite warnings from the princess and her friends to avoid flirting with Mulaudzi, Makhadzi continued to show affection.

ZiMoja reported that the tension escalated when Makhadzi and Mulaudzi secluded themselves from the crowd, which did not sit well with the princess.

intervened to prevent further escalation. Makhadzi and her dancers were subsequently asked to leave the venue to prevent any further unpleasantness.

Reports suggest that Makhadzi departed gracefully, seemingly unaware of her partner’s dual involvement.

The princess’s spokesperson, Vho Mashudu Muvhangona, addressed the allegations, referring to them as mere rumours. When asked about the relationship between the princess and Mulaudzi, Muvhangona emphasized that the royal family does not interfere in personal matters unless invited.

Regarding Makhadzi’s future involvement with the royal family, Muvhangona expressed gratitude for her previous offer to perform and suggested the possibility of booking her again in the future.

Princess Masindi has long been involved in a legal battle over the Venda kingship. In 2016, she obtained a court order to halt her uncle’s coronation ceremony as the VhaVenda king.

She argues that she is the rightful heir and claims discrimination due to her gender. The issue remains unresolved, with the royal family yet to determine the true successor to the Venda throne.
