DJ Maphorisa’s Court Case Postponed

The court case involving DJ Maphorisa and his girlfriend Thuli “Thuli P” Phongolo has been postponed until 5 July due to the absence of state representatives during the proceedings. DJ Maphorisa, whose real name is Themba Sekowe, briefly appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 14 June.

The assault charge against DJ Maphorisa stems from a case opened by Phongolo at the Sandton Police Station on 7 May. He was arrested on the same day for allegedly assaulting her at his apartment in Sandton, Johannesburg. After appearing in court on 8 May, he was granted bail of R4,000.

During his recent court appearance, DJ Maphorisa arrived at the court accompanied by his bodyguards and management team, who prevented media from photographing them. DJ Maphorisa’s lawyer declined to comment on the matter.

On the previous court date, Phongolo arrived with her team and concealed her face from the media. DJ Maphorisa was informed that his bail conditions would remain in effect until the charges against him were formally withdrawn.

As the case unfolds, the public awaits further developments regarding the allegations and the court’s ultimate decision. The next court hearing on 5 July will provide more clarity on the legal proceedings surrounding DJ Maphorisa and Thuli Phongolo.
