“I Miss My Brother AKA”: Minister Fikile Mbalula Draws Anger From Fans

In what was supposed to be an innocent and genuine sharing of emotions turned nasty for South African Minister Fikile Mbalula who claimed that he misses slain rapper Kienan “AKA” Forbes.

The death of Supa Mega was not only a blow to a tender spot for his music fans and regular people in South Africa, but it also devastated those in high positions. Minister Fikile Mbalula took to Twitter to convey how much he missed AKA;

“I miss my brother AKA Kiernan Forbes this Monday morning,” tweeted Minister Fikile Mbalula.

Most of Fikile Mbalula’s Twitter followers were outraged, accusing the ANC administration of failing to make any arrests since the event. AKA and Mbalula were friends, and the latter even featured on AKA’s Braai Show.

Speaking on eNCA. after the news of AKA’s death broke, Fikile Mbalula said that the rapper was assassinated and it was a clear hit. He also added that the government believe in the police force to work on the case and arrest the killers.

“We can’t make speculations at the moment, but what we know and have seen is it was a hit, AKA was assassinated. We believe in the capacity of the police to dig deep and get the killers. Also, get to the bottom of why [the motive]. He wasn’t a drug lord, he was a musician,” Mbalula said.

“The family has expressed gratitude to the police for their professionalism. We leave everything in the hands of the law. Anyone with information must work with the cops and provide information so we can find these killers.”
