Multi-Vehicle Accident Leaves Four Dead On The N12

A multi-vehicle accident on the N12 in Witbank South Africa left four people dead on Thursday morning.

According to the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison Moeti Mmusi, the accident happened on the N12 road between Witbank and Ogies in Emalahleni.

He said the road is still closed as emergency personnel and law enforcement officers are at the scene.

“The multiple vehicle collisions were largely caused by reduced visibility due to early morning mist. “The multiple collisions include articulated trucks, sedans, and light delivery vehicles (LDVs).” Moeti Mmusi

Mmusi said motorists are once again encouraged to reduce speed, increase following distance, and switch their headlights on when driving in misty conditions.

It is believed three of the deceased were all occupants in one of the involved sedans.
