Live Update: Delays In Some Polling Stations

Some polling stations have not yet begun casting votes due to logistical problems as people have already queued up.

According to reports, election officials said they have only received presidential and Parliamentary ballot papers, and they don’t have local authority ballot papers.

Ministry of Information and Publicity Secretary Nick Mangwana confirmed the development;

At Hellenic Primary School in Alexandria Park there has been a slight delay in commencing voting as they await Local Govt Ballot papers. Some minor logistical hitches are understandable in an operation of this magnitude.

Team Pachedu said;

Ballot papers.

No ballot papers in Glen View north at Triangle Terminus and St Mary no ballot for local elections also.

Deputy Chief Secretary-Presidential Communications in the Office of the President George Charamba confirmed the development clarifying the matter in a social media post;

DELAY IN SOME POLLING STATIONS IN HARARE: Some Polling Stations in Harare have delayed opening for want of LOCAL GOVT BALLOT PAPERS whose printing and therefore delivery was affected by protracted litigation. ZEC is now delivering these and voting should start anytime now.
